Emma's So Naturals Eco Soy Candles

11:10

One of the main factors which influences many vegetarians to take the plunge into a sometimes awkward lifestyle is the feeling that you are doing good. You are doing good for the animals, and for the environment. But as I said this lifestyle comes with its own challenges. Leather is everywhere, there are secret animal products hidden in food (you don’t want to know) and we live in a throw away culture. Its hard to feel that you are doing good or making the world a tiny bit better when the odds are stacked against you.

That being said there are those who are trying to make this lifestyle a little bit easier, cue Emma’s So Naturals Eco Soy Candles. Emma contacted me on Instagram asking me to try her product and give her some feedback. Firstly I was delighted someone thought I was worth the shipping fee, but secondly, and most importantly, I was excited to try to help an Irish start up with a good heart. When the parcel arrived in the post I was blown away.

Firstly the packaging is just stunning, I love the bright colours and the useful information printed on the sides (this explains why use soy, why use essential oils etc.) The candle itself is very minimally decorated with a small sticker at the front meaning it would fit into any decor. The scent is more subtle than other candles whist burning. This is great if you want to enjoy a stronger smell like lemongrass with out the headache that would accompany your usual bee’s wax candle. Finally and more importantly this candle is vegan (no bees were harmed) and its environmentally sound. The wax is water soluble meaning the glass can be washed out and reused as a granola pot or recycled. Helping the animals, helping the environment, and helping an Irish start up. Win win.

Why should you care about these candles?
  • They are handmade in Ireland (support your local Irish start up)
  • Naturally fragranced using pure essential oils
  • The wax is renewable and biodegradable (the wax is soy and the wick is cotton)
  • Vegan and not tested on animals
  • No paraffin
  • No artificial dyes
  • No synthetic fragrances
  • No palm oil
  • Candles burn for approx. 50 hours
